Islamabad, January 28: President Asif Ali Zardari held discussions with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and Ruler of Dubai, focusing on enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in economic, trade, and investment sectors.
The leaders reiterated their commitment to deepening the strong ties between Pakistan and the UAE, expressing satisfaction with the positive direction of their bilateral relations.
During their meeting at Zabeel Palace in Dubai, President Zardari congratulated Sheikh Mohammed on his two decades of leadership and lauded Dubai’s incredible growth into a global hub for tourism, finance, and emerging technologies.

The discussion included leveraging Dubai’s expertise in ports, logistics, infrastructure, IT, and digital financial services, as highlighted by the President Secretariat Media Wing.
The meeting was also attended by First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE.

President Zardari emphasized Pakistan’s ongoing economic reforms, including investment promotion and privatization, and explored opportunities for collaboration in infrastructure, logistics, food security, and technology-driven sectors with the UAE.
He extended an invitation to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to visit Pakistan.

The leaders stressed the importance of high-level exchanges and reflected on the recent visit of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Pakistan, acknowledging the UAE’s ongoing support for Pakistan’s economic progress.
They also recognized the significant role of the Pakistani community in the UAE in strengthening people-to-people connections.
