GUJRAT, Feb 05: A rally and walk were held by the district administration in Gujrat in observance of Kashmir Solidarity Day, to show support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
The rally, which started from the Deputy Commissioner Office, wound its way through the city, concluding at the Assistant Commissioner Office Gujrat. It was spearheaded by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Waqas Safdar Sikandari and Member Provincial Assembly Syed Madad Ali Shah.
In attendance were key figures such as Chief Executive Officer Health Dr. Syed Ata-ul-Munim, Chief Officer Municipal Corporation Zafar Abbas, District Officer Population Umar Farooq, and Medical Superintendent Dr. Ghamkhawar Hussain Shah, with officers from various departments. Representatives from WASA, Rescue 1122, traders’ associations, civil society organizations, and citizen groups also participated.
An impressive number of students, traders, and citizens from all walks of life joined the rally. Attendees carried banners and placards advocating for the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination and condemning Indian actions in the occupied territory.
During the rally, speakers reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people, emphasizing ongoing moral, diplomatic, and political backing for their rightful cause. They asserted that the observance of Kashmir Solidarity Day sends a strong message to the global community, urging them to address the Kashmir issue based on United Nations resolutions.
The event concluded with a special prayer for national security and in honor of Kashmiri martyrs.
