Lahore, February 4: The city reported an average Air Quality Index (AQI) of 160, categorizing the air conditions as unhealthy.
Moreover, the concentration of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) was found to be 13.8 times higher than the World Health Organization’s annual guideline value, underscoring a severe level of air pollution. These conditions pose significant health risks, especially to children, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory or cardiovascular conditions, and emphasize the urgent need for effective air quality management and pollution control strategies.
