ISLAMABAD, Feb 02: Mrs. Farzhana Naek, Chairperson of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), met with Mr. Bilal Ahmed, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, on Monday at the Pakistan Mission to reinforce humanitarian cooperation and push forward shared global priorities.
The meeting addressed the evolving global funding landscape, emerging humanitarian challenges, and opportunities for enhanced coordination to bolster effective relief and disaster rehabilitation initiatives in Pakistan.
Discussions centered around utilizing international platforms to enhance outreach to potential donors and partners, with the mutual goal of improving the scale and quality of humanitarian assistance for vulnerable communities.
The dialogue underscored the significance of continued engagement with the United Nations system and other global stakeholders to ensure timely, coordinated, and needs-based humanitarian responses.
The Chairperson highlighted PRCS’s role as a respected humanitarian organization with a strong community presence and extensive operational reach throughout Pakistan.
Chairperson PRCS Mrs. Farzhana Naek emphasized the necessity of close coordination with Pakistan’s Mission to the UN to align humanitarian priorities and mobilize international support.
