RAWALPINDI, Feb 02: Secretary General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), Major General Mohammed Bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, met with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, on Monday at the General Headquarters (GHQ).
During their meeting, discussions were held on various matters of mutual interest, focusing particularly on regional security dynamics and expanding counter-terrorism cooperation, as detailed in a press release by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to the fight against terrorism and extremism, emphasizing collaborative strategies, intelligence sharing, and capacity building among member states.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir commended the IMCTC for its vital role in fostering stability and advocating for coordinated counter-terrorism initiatives across the Islamic world.
Major General Mohammed Bin Saeed Al-Moghedi acknowledged Pakistan’s substantial contributions and sacrifices in combating terrorism and praised the professionalism of Pakistan’s Armed Forces.
The meeting emphasized both parties’ resolve to further enhance institutional collaboration for peace, stability, and security in the region.
The IMCTC delegation is visiting Pakistan from February 2-6 to conduct a week-long training at the National University of Sciences and Technology on the topic of “Re-integration and Rehabilitation of Extremist Elements.”
