LAHORE, Jan 31: Eleven recently confirmed judges of the Lahore High Court (LHC) were officially sworn into office on Saturday. The ceremony, held on the LHC main lawn, was both simple and impressive, with LHC Chief Justice Aalia Neelum administering the oath.
Among the attendees were LHC judges, Federal Minister for Law Azam Nazeer Tarar, federal and provincial law officers, as well as members and office-bearers of the Pakistan Bar Council, Punjab Bar Council, Lahore High Court Bar Association, and Lahore Bar Association. Also in attendance were judicial officers, lawyers, LHC officers, and family members of the newly confirmed judges.
The judges confirmed in their roles included Justice Hassan Nawaz Makhdoom, Justice Malik Waqar Haider Awan, Justice Sardar Akbar Ali, Justice Syed Ahsan Raza Kazmi, Justice Malik Javid Iqbal Wains, Justice Muhammad Jawad Zafar, Justice Khalid Ishaq, Justice Malik Muhammad Awais Khalid, Justice Chaudhry Sultan Mahmood, Justice Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh, and Justice Abher Gul Khan.
Chief Justice Aalia Neelum congratulated the judges on their confirmation and extended her best wishes for their success in fulfilling their judicial responsibilities.
