Muqam Urges WAPDA to Speed Up Restoration of Damaged Infrastructure in Snow-Affected Swat and Shangla

SWAT, Jan 31: Federal Minister Engineer Amir Muqam on Saturday urged WAPDA officials to deliver immediate and comprehensive relief to the residents of Swat and Shangla districts.
The minister instructed to speed up the process of restoring power in these districts, where the electricity infrastructure was severely impacted by recent torrential rains and snowfall.
During a high-level meeting with senior WAPDA officials, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON, and President of Pakistan Muslim League (N), Engineer Amir Muqam, issued these directives.
The meeting assessed the damage to the electrical systems in Swat and Shangla due to heavy snowfall, along with the ongoing measures to restore power supply.
WAPDA officials briefed the Federal Minister on how the snowfall caused severe damage to power transmission lines, poles, and other installations.
He emphasized his resolve that all relevant institutions would remain fully engaged until the complete restoration of the electricity system, stressing that no negligence would be tolerated.
