COAS Syed Asim Munir Witnesses ‘Steadfast Resolve’ Field Exercise at Bahawalpur Garrison

RAWALPINDI, Jan 29: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, recently visited the Bahawalpur Garrison to observe the high-intensity Field Exercise ‘Steadfast Resolve’ at Khairpur Tamewali (KPT). This exercise showcased the integration of advanced technologies, including unmanned aerial systems (drones), sophisticated surveillance tools, electronic warfare assets, and modern command-and-control strategies, highlighting the Armed Forces’ emphasis on technology-driven multi-domain operations.
During the visit, the COAS received a detailed briefing on the Corps’ operational, training, and administrative efforts, particularly focusing on preparations for multi-domain warfare, as stated by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Addressing the troops, the COAS praised their high morale, professional competence, and operational readiness.
He reinforced that the Pakistan Armed Forces are fully prepared to defend the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against any threats, stressing the importance of maintaining optimal readiness to meet future battlefield and security challenges.
The COAS emphasized that the Pakistan Armed Forces are undergoing significant transformations across multiple domains. The nature of warfare has fundamentally changed with technological advancements, necessitating a major mental transformation at all levels.
He noted that in the future, technological maneuvers will replace physical maneuvers, fundamentally altering offensive and defensive operations. Thus, the Pakistan Armed Forces are rapidly embracing technology, focusing on innovation, indigenization, and adaptation.
Earlier, the COAS & CDF inaugurated the ROHI eSkills Learning Hub (STP), aimed at promoting digital skills and educational opportunities for students, particularly from Southern Punjab and across Pakistan. Additionally, he inaugurated the APS Abbasia Campus, reaffirming the Pakistan Army’s commitment to quality education and character building.
The COAS & CDF also visited the EME Regional Workshop, where he was briefed on efforts to sustain modern platforms through cutting-edge technologies, indigenization, and other combat support measures.
Upon his arrival at the Bahawalpur Garrison, the COAS & CDF was welcomed by the Commander Bahawalpur Corps. He laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered Fateha, paying tribute to the martyrs’ supreme sacrifices.
