RAWALPINDI, Feb 02: The Secretary General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), Major General Mohammed Bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, met with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Monday.
During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest with a particular focus on regional security dynamics and enhancing cooperation in counter-terrorism efforts, as reported by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to combating terrorism and extremism through collaborative strategies, intelligence sharing, and capacity building among member states.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir praised the IMCTC’s role in fostering stability and promoting coordinated counter-terrorism initiatives in the Islamic world.
Major General Mohammed Bin Saeed Al-Moghedi recognized Pakistan’s significant contributions and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and commended the professionalism of Pakistan’s Armed Forces.
The meeting emphasized the dedication of both sides to strengthen institutional collaboration for peace, stability, and security in the region.
The IMCTC team is visiting Pakistan from 2-6 Feb 26 to conduct a one-week training session at the National University of Sciences and Technology on “Re-integration and rehabilitation of extremist elements.”
