ISLAMABAD, Feb 03: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, chaired a significant meeting at the Central Police Office to review the police reforms currently underway and outline the future strategy for Islamabad Police.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, DIG Headquarters Malik Jameel Zafar, and other senior police officers. During the session, IGP Rizvi conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the new reform initiatives being implemented within Islamabad Police and engaged in discussions on future planning.
The focus was placed on strengthening community policing, with directives issued to enhance confidence-building measures between the police and the public. IGP Rizvi also stressed the importance of making the service delivery system more effective and people-friendly, while urging comprehensive steps to enhance security for both residents and tourists in the capital.
Discussions also centered on modernizing investigation and prosecution systems, utilizing modern technology effectively, and ensuring timely case follow-up and resolution. Responsibilities were assigned to officers with clearly defined timelines, emphasizing strict implementation. Progress in cases related to serious crimes was also reviewed.
Reaffirming the protection of citizens’ lives and property as a top priority, IGP Rizvi called for the enhancement of security arrangements, improvements in the patrolling system, and accelerated public facilitation initiatives. He reiterated that the Islamabad Police will take all necessary measures to provide a safe, secure, and peaceful environment throughout the federal capital.
