BEIJING, Jan 30: Xi Jinping, the general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, chaired a meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. The assembly focused on a report from the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau concerning its evaluation and discussion of work reports from the leading Party members groups of the top legislature, central government, political advisory body, supreme court, and supreme procuratorate, alongside the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee.
The meeting praised the accomplishments of these institutions in 2025 and endorsed their plans for 2026. In 2025, the five leading Party members groups upheld the authority and centralized leadership of the Party Central Committee, significantly contributing to the successful completion of the year’s key tasks and objectives, as well as the conclusion of the 14th Five-Year Plan.
Participants noted that the Secretariat effectively implemented the Party Central Committee’s decisions and conducted extensive work to fulfill assigned tasks. As the 105th anniversary of the CPC’s founding and the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan period begin, the meeting urged the leading Party members groups to align their efforts with strategic economic and social development objectives of the new plan and aim for a strong start. Furthermore, the Secretariat was encouraged to carry out its responsibilities with excellence.
Various other issues were also addressed during the meeting.
