Punjab Government Allocates Rs.690 Million for Nishtar Hospital Cancer Centre

MULTAN, Jan 30: In a significant advancement for healthcare in South Punjab, the Punjab government has allocated the entire sum of Rs.690 million for the 100-bed Nishtar Hospital Cancer Centre, announced on Friday.
Commissioner Multan Division Aamir Karim Khan has instructed the relevant departments to ensure the facility is fully operational by June 2026, enabling patients throughout the region to receive timely and quality cancer care.
Speaking at the event, the commissioner stated that the completion of the Cancer Centre would substantially improve access to modern cancer treatments in South Punjab and decrease the necessity for patients to travel to larger cities for specialized medical services.
He described the project as a crucial step toward strengthening the region’s healthcare infrastructure.
He further added that enhancing public healthcare remains a top priority for Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, noting that healthcare initiatives in Multan are progressing rapidly under her leadership.
The Nishtar Hospital Cancer Centre is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing specialized healthcare services and ensuring equitable access to cancer treatment for the region’s patients.
