COAS Observes ‘Steadfast Resolve’ Exercise at Bahawalpur Garrison

RAWALPINDI, Jan 29: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), visited Bahawalpur Garrison to witness the high-intensity field exercise ‘Steadfast Resolve’ at Khairpur Tamewali (KPT). The exercise showcased the integration of niche technologies such as unmanned aerial systems, advanced surveillance assets, electronic warfare tools, and modern command-and-control mechanisms, highlighting the Armed Forces’ commitment to technology-driven multi-domain operations.
During the visit, the COAS was briefed on various operational, training, and administrative aspects of the Corps, with a special focus on preparations for multi-domain warfare, according to a press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Addressing the troops, the COAS praised their high morale, professional competence, and operational readiness.
He affirmed that the Pakistan Armed Forces remain fully prepared to protect Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against all threats. The COAS stressed the importance of maintaining optimal readiness to meet future battlefield and security challenges.
The COAS highlighted that the Pakistan Armed Forces are undergoing significant transformation across multiple domains. With technological advancements steering this evolution, there is a necessity for profound mental shifts across all levels. In the future, technological maneuvers will replace physical ones, fundamentally changing the nature of offensive and defensive operations. As a result, the Pakistan Armed Forces are rapidly adopting and integrating new technologies, with innovation, indigenization, and adaptation remaining central.
Earlier, the COAS & CDF inaugurated the ROHI eSkills Learning Hub (STP) to promote digital skills and learning opportunities for students, especially those from Southern Punjab and across the nation. He also opened the APS Abbasia Campus, reiterating the Pakistan Army’s dedication to quality education and character building.
Additionally, the COAS & CDF visited the EME Regional Workshop, where he was briefed on maintenance procedures for sustaining modern platforms using advanced technologies, indigenization, and other combat support measures. Upon arriving at Bahawalpur Garrison, he was welcomed by Commander Bahawalpur Corps. He laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered Fateha, honoring the martyrs’ supreme sacrifices.
